How To Make Turmeric Tea That’s Both Delicious And Healthy

The fast moving life and tight working scheduled does not allow our body to get proper rest. After an exhausting day when we suffer from a backache, headache, and muscular pain, we prefer to take a painkiller to get instant relief.

Most of the people consume ibuprofen tablets (Motrin, Advil, Nuprin & Nurofen) to get relief from pain. However the long term side effects of these tablets are horrifying. It reduces the inflammation and pain instantly but has damaging effect on our body.

The long term side effects of ibuprofen (and other NSAIDs) include gastrointestinal bleeding, nausea, diarrhea, hypertension, increase in risk of kidney cancer and heart attack, erectile dysfunction and many more.

We should know how ibuprofen (and other NSAIDs) works on out body. The principle of ibuprofen (and other NSAIDs) drug is to inhibit an enzyme, COX-2 (or Cyclooxygenase 2). This enzyme is responsible for the sense of inflammation and pain generated in the body. As the impact of tablet blocks the enzyme the pain and inflammation is automatically reduced.

Fortunately there is a natural ingredient which also works on the same principle. Turmeric consists of a compound called curcumin which is a COX-2 inhibitor. The advantage of turmeric over ibuprofen is that turmeric tea is free from side effects. It is popular drink across South Asia and consumed by people from thousands of years.
